Dear Special Family Friends & Relatives of Betty, Benny & Colin

Colin Bocarro has been in the care of Lavender Oaks Care Home for only three days and already feel it was the best thing that could happen to him.

At home he was not coping, could not dress himself and his personal hygiene was becoming a serious problem and like most people we were terrified of him going into a home and the consequences it may bring, but since Sunday we feel that being in your care Colin will become a stronger happier person all round. We cannot thank you enough for the wonderful, kind, and compassionate care you haven given Colin from the minute he arrived on Sunday where he enjoyed a great dinner with a few family members and were very privileged to have Annie who provided us with her excellent service right through the evening. Your dedicated staff work so hard to ensure the residents feel its the closest thing to home they can provide.
Thank you seems hardly enough but we are very grateful to each and every one of your staff.  It’s an amazing care home with an amazing team!

Below are a few photographs taken on Sunday 14th October 2018.
Sorry photo quality poor as I only took my little pocket camera not expecting to take photographs on the first day.

Feel free to follow this blog spot where I will provide progress reports at frequent intervals. Also Lavender Oaks have a full weeks entertainment programme which I will post when possible.

Lindsay, special thanks to you and your wonderful team for all your help and support looking after Colin.

We extend our special thanks to all our friends mentioned above who have encouraged us in deciding the safest place for Colin is Lavender Oaks Care Home where he will receive 24/7 care and attention looking after his health and safety.

PROGRESS REPORTS LISTED AT THE END.

Love and best wishes
Benny & Betty

Hi Benny,

That sounds very promising. I'm sure they'll be the odd wobble, but wobbles are allowed as long as they're handled the right way.

Fingers crossed he settles in and before you know it, that becomes his new routine. With dementia its really all about keeping a routine & basically them feeling comfortable about what's going on. From what Lindsay says it seems all on track, so lets hope its the start of a whole new chapter for him, and of course you and Betty too.

If there's anything I can ever help with, just let me know.

All the best, and well done for all your perseverance.

Neil

TUESDAY 17TH OCTOBER 2018

Colin enjoyed a good dinner and mixed with others making a couple of friends. He enjoyed a good beer with one of Lavender Oaks staff and is not talking of wanting to go home. Tomorrow morning we will be taking his BOSE music system and some of his CD's he enjoys.
